“Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)The believers in Christ who are committed to him are feeling the impact of the battles that are raging against God’s truth in America and our spirit is greatly alerted. The battle for truth is in full force. We are literally seeing coming to pass what the prophet Isaiah mentions in the scripture above. Evil is not only being called good, but it is being forced upon us whether we like it or not. What we knew as darkness is now what many are calling light or the new light. This is causing many to grow frustrated in the fight to move our beloved country back to God and his principles. But we must not be weary in well-doing for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Those of us born in the 40s, and 50s never thought we would see so many of the immoral things we are seeing and being told they are socially acceptable and tolerated. Also, if any one dares to express an opposing opinion on any given subject that doesn’t go with the liberal agenda, the person is immediately labeled as hateful, intolerant and a judgmental individual. What do I mean by that? Like when the young man that was kicked out of class for daring to say there are only two genders, male and female. Imagine that! The latest list I have read about supposed genders is up to 112 different genders that people identify with. That just tells you about the state of confusion people are allowing to take over their life and they are running with it. We are being told that a baby is not a baby in the mother’s womb and doesn’t deserve to live if the mother doesn’t want that baby to live. People think nothing of using abortion as a contraceptive and now some state legislatures are approving bills to decriminalize infanticide on an abortion survivor, or an unwanted full-term baby born alive. Even some so-called Christians are accepting these views, yet they want to identify with the Lord and twist and contort Bible verses in an attempt to justify their position.
Not only has America drifted away from the truth of God but she doesn’t even want to hear it. Many can’t handle it! 2 Timothy3:1-5 says, “But understand this… there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.” When people move away from God’s truth any evil is possible even from people whom you least expect it.
But we must not sit back and do nothing lest fear and cowardice creeps in. When we are actively engaged and living and defending God’s truth, we don’t have time to worry!
God has called us to be in this fight for our country and we must not let him down or ourselves, for that matter. Christians must pray, live right, vote, and stand.
We are having to fight in the public square by tooth and nail to uphold the most conservative and biblical platform in history. Affirming our religious freedom and the sanctity of life is requiring very active involvement.
The words of Christ encourage us: “Wisdom is vindicated by all her children” (Luke 7:35). It means that God’s wisdom as a strategy will always give us the right result. Let us have the right vision and hold fast to his truth—it never fails.
“Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your vision is clear, your whole body also is full of light. But when it is poor, your body is full of darkness. Be careful, then, that the light within you is not darkness.” (Luke 11:34-35)
