Let me share a couple of quotes by the philosopher and political journalist Albert Camus (1913-1960): “Freedom is nothing but a chance to be better” and “You will never be happy if you continue to search for what happiness consists of. You will never live if you are looking for the meaning of life.”
Misinformation is not a phenomenon of our times; it has been with humanity for thousands of years. Our generation is the best positioned to sort out truth from falsehood, and reality from fiction. The future of a nation always depends on whose agenda people embrace as truth and reality; the question is how do we know if it is truth and reality? Finding the difference is the responsibility of each one of us.
Generation after generation, “We the People” elect into office, by majority vote, those whom they want as “Public Servants”. Read every word of the Preamble of the Constitution carefully and then ask the question: Who got us into this mess?
And off we go! The 2016 Republican Convention and Democrat Convention are behind us, and now we are moving on to the presidential election like no other in the history of this nation. By this I don’t mean that past conventions have been easy flowing without mudslinging, or weren’t as important. As a matter of fact, from the very first presidential election up until today we have to come to the conclusion that all conventions and elections have lasting consequences.
More and more people are asking, what is wrong with the world? Where is America headed with so much lawlessness and crime? Why is safety eroding? These undeniable truths and facts are all around us; the social order is collapsing and there’s no denying it, there are more questions with no clear answers in sight.
FBI Director James Comey made it clear to the nation that even though the investigation of Hillary Clinton’s emails confirmed that she lied repeatedly, he decided not to recommend criminal charges. The message is that there are two sets of laws, one for the elite who are politically connected and the other for the rest of the people. In other words, don’t expect the rule of law to apply equally because to the elite justice is not blind, and hasn’t been for a long time. Millions of Americans feel frustrated and powerless with the political establishment, especially with incidents like the slaughter of white police officers in Dallas.
The America of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries is not the America of the original intent, which led us to the Declaration of Independence. More and more this nation has become what other empires of the past and great nations became by building upon destructive ideas that corrupt the very nature of humanity.
Obama relentlessly defends his decision to have schools open their bathrooms to both sexes permitting the student’s to use them according to their gender preferences. During his town hall meeting, June 2, in Elkhart, Indiana, he mentioned his “Christian faith” as the basis for making the decision, “My reading of scripture tells me that [the] Golden Rule is pretty high up there in terms of my Christian belief.”
Obama’s visit to Hiroshima, where the world experienced the first nuclear attack on August 6, 1945, was a prime opportunity for him to lecture the world on the morality against the destructive force brought about by war and the advancement of weapons.
Political parties mean social fragmentation; they can never unite a society. Every election reminds us how divided we are, and this presidential election is no different. The divided Democrat Party is in untidiness; Democrats and their sympathizers have a choice between a hard-core left ideologist and an elite socialist with leftist ideological leanings. The divided Republican Party isn’t any better; most of them don’t like the nominee for not being conservative enough, and the elites are looking for the alternative “right conservative.”
Do you know of a time when America has been better off socially with this concept of a governmental experiment that had never been implemented in human history? Notice that my question is not related to economics alone, but to the idea of its entire social structure.
When was the last time you saw a photo of planet Earth taken from outer space? It is a beautiful sight suspended in space, it looks peaceful and inviting, does it not? If you compare it with neighboring planets of our solar system, well, there is just no comparison. However, it is quite another story to be on this planet with all the historical and social convulsions that generation after generation have lived through and will continue to live through.
There is a level of frustration, nationally and internationally, that is dangerously increasing with no sign of resolving the cause(s) of the many problems facing this nation and the world. To make things even worse, so-called solutions are being implemented that have proven in the past to be fatal.
