Doctors agree: Late-Term Abortion is Never Medically Necessary

How did such a culture of lies and death takeover America? Most of us are sickened by the rapid turn of events taking place in our nation and not for the better, sad to say. If you are like me, you are still feeling like the air was knocked out of you with the recent legislation taking place in New York where infanticide was not only approved but celebrated with loud cheers and applause. What kind of monsters have we become to celebrate killing babies who are aborted in later-term pregnancies and even those who are born alive but are left to die because they are unwanted? There is no valid excuse or reasoning to arrive at such levels of evil to say that life can be disposable. What authority has made us gods to take it upon ourselves to decide these matters?

People are refusing to even look at the science that refutes their claims in order to justify the massacre of the unborn and even live births now. The proponents of abortion are not even willing to listen to expert opinion of doctors and OBGYNs who agree that abortion is never medically necessary in late-term pregnancies even with serious complications. One of the most common arguments in late-term abortions is that in some cases abortion is medically necessary. This myth is based on faulty assumptions and is being repeated over and over again but expert doctors say that is not so. Thousands of OBGYNs worldwide know the truth that there is no situation in which a late-term abortion is medically necessary. Delivered, yes, but abortion no!

Since 1973 the Roe v. Wade, along with its companion case of Doe v. Bolton, the false idea and outright lie that late-term abortion is sometimes necessary for “health” reasons has been repeated so often that Americans believe this is part of the so-called “legal abortion.” The definition of health has become so broad that it erases all restrictions on abortion.  But doctors assure us that there are no medical situations in which killing the unborn baby is necessary to save the mother.

Pro-life website www.Lifenews.com reports the following:

Over a thousand OB-GYNs and maternal healthcare experts joined together to affirm this reality in the Dublin Declaration, which states: “As experienced practitioners and researchers in obstetrics and gynecology, we affirm that direct abortion – the purposeful destruction of the unborn child — is not medically necessary to save the life of a woman. We uphold that there is a fundamental difference between abortion, and necessary medical treatments that are carried out to save the life of the mother, even if such treatment results in the loss of life of her unborn child. We confirm that the prohibition of abortion does not affect, in any way, the availability of optimal care to pregnant women.”

Dr. Anthony Levatino is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, and board member of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He spent years working at Albany Medical Center, one of the top high-risk obstetrics hospitals in America. He has worked with some of the most complex pregnancy situations possible: mothers with cancer, diabetes, heart disease, rampant toxemia, and other life-threatening health issues that were exacerbated by pregnancy. These are exactly the situations that abortion advocates point to as ones in which abortion is medically necessary.

Dr. Levatino has saved hundreds of pregnant women’s lives, working against the clock in the face of devastating health situations, and not once did he find that it was medically necessary to deliberately kill the unborn baby. He simply delivered the baby either through early induction or through C-section. He says, “This is what any obstetrician who practices according to the Hippocratic Oath would do. Killing the baby offers no medical advantage to the mother. The reality is that even if the baby cannot live after we separate mother and baby, there is an undeniable difference between a doctor trying to save the baby after that separation against long odds, and an abortionist deliberately and intentionally killing the baby within the womb.”

As we can clearly see, abortion is never about saving lives, the opposite is the truth. It not only destroys the life of the unborn child but scars the mother and father for life. There is a better way, choose life or adoption but don’t kill innocent lives. We must be better than that. The Creator of those lives will hold us responsible.

“I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man
according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.”
