(Constitution.com) – Professor D. Watkins recently penned an article entitled “Why are cops OK with killing black people? Because American history teaches that we aren’t fully human”. To a certain degree he is right, but not in the way he thinks.
His first premise is that cops target blacks. However, scientific evidence completely debunks that theory. Harvard University Professor Roland Fryer examined police related shootings and determined blacks are 20% less likely to be shot than whites. Professor Fryer is a black economics instructor who believed he would find evidence to support Watkin’s claims. He was shockingly surprised at the results.
Mr. Watkins second claim is that our history teaches us that blacks aren’t fully human. On that point he is correct, but for the wrong reason. From the moment evolution invaded our science books, we have been taught that some races are less human than others. Darwin believed that different races are a result of different stages of evolution. He placed Caucasians at the top with Asians and Africans lower down the evolutionary chain.
Eugenicists such as Margaret Sanger became followers of Darwin’s evolutionary theory. She believed minorities are not fully human and can easily be eliminated. A belief shared by fellow eugenicist Adolf Hitler who held similar views towards the Jews.
Evolutionary theory fostered her unashamed claim that blacks and other minorities are “human weeds” that needed to be pulled from society and destroyed. It is why Margaret Sanger so willingly pushed her abortion clinics into black neighborhoods. She fully believed in the perfect Aryan race and used the guise of “birth control” to advance it.
Hillary Clinton proudly proclaims her admiration and respect for Margaret Sanger and her most glorified offspring, Planned Parenthood. They alone abort hundreds of babies a day with black babies being at the top of the heap. In New York City, more black babies are aborted than born. According to the 2010 census, only 13.6% of Americans are black, yet since Roe vs. Wade, blacks have received almost 30% of the abortions.
As is common, Watkins purposely fails to discuss how the black community sees itself. If they think cops deliberately target, harass and kill individuals based solely on their skin color, what do they contribute all the black-on-black crime to? On an average weekend in Chicago, upwards of 50–60 blacks can be shot by other blacks. Do they see each other as subhuman too?
Cops patrol areas where the crime exists. This is called hot spot policing, focusing on the locations most likely to lead to violence. They spend their nights answering calls from people who dial 911 for help. The vast majority of their patrols and those runs are in minority neighborhoods. Shootings happen every night in major cities with the victims almost always being black. But it is not the cops doing the firing. It is other blacks. When the cops do arrive and try to investigate, for some reason, noone ever seems to have seen anything. In fact, many of the spectators spend their time yelling at the cops while their loved one lies dead on the ground due to another black man’s bullet.
Statistics tell us that the leading cause of death for young black men 15–34 is other young black men. Blacks have a better chance against a white cop on the street than they do with their neighbor. Who exactly thinks blacks aren’t fully human?
Mr. Watkins is correct we have been taught this as part of our history because it is based on a false scientific belief. But let’s stop pointing fingers and rehashing what everyone knows is the problem. What’s the solution?
There is only one answer to the problem where people think that their fellow man is less than human. It’s called the Bible.
Genesis 1:27 states: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
There it is. Right there. If you think American History is the culprit of teaching that blacks aren’t fully human than you need to start demanding that schools be allowed to teach Creationism. Creationists know that every single human being is a descendant of Adam and Eve. I don’t care what race, creed or color they are. We all are created equal in the image of God.
Recent DNA studies have discovered that all humans can be traced back to a single woman. Amazing how this was made clear in the Bible all along.
“The man called his wife’s name Eve, because she was the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3:20)
All individual human DNA differs by only 0.1%. This is microscopic, especially compared to the 1.2%–3.1% difference we see in the primates we supposedly evolved from.
Yes, Southern Christian slaveowners did cherrypick verses of the Bible to support slavery. We all want to find evidence that justifies our sinful behavior. They are no more guilty than Watkins is of hand-selecting cop shooting details that further his agenda. Southern Christians ignored the Creation story and the Golden Rule just like Watkins ignores the horrors of abortion and black-on-black crime.
On the flip side, it was Christian abolitionists that fought, bled and died to give slaves their freedom.
We need to decide. Are we going to continue to tear each other apart with half truths, personal motives, and propaganda, or are we going to seek the truth and solve the problem? Are we going to persist in singling out those events that further our cause or are we going to address the entire issue?
It’s up to you, America.
