“Man has forgotten God”

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.”
(Proverbs 16:25)

Alexander Solzhenitsyn (1918-2008) was a Russian novelist, historian, and the most famous outspoken Soviet dissident. In 1970 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature. He was expelled from the Union Soviet Socialist Republic (USSR). He later returned to Russia in 1994 after the fall of the USSR and passed away in Moscow in 2008.

Solzhenitsyn was a very brave man of strong convictions and exposed the atrocities of the USSR and its totalitarian government to the world. As expected, he paid dearly and was imprisoned for years. His three-volume book, The Gulag Archipelago reveals the atrocities of the communist-atheistic ideology. Solzhenitsyn estimates that 60 million people died under that totalitarian form of government.

Upon his visit, and extended stay in the West, he was questioned about the reasons for the decline of western civilization he stated: Man has forgotten God, that is why this has happened.”

Solzhenitsyn made a call and clear warning to America and said: “I call upon America to be more careful with its trust. Prevent those from falsely using social justice to lead you down a false road. They are trying to weaken you. We can only reach with determination for the warm hand of God, which we have so rashly and self-confidently pushed away.”

The concept of social justice was highly used in the 20th century by dictators in their rise to power, which is why it’s so sad and tragic to say that not only does this continue in our times, but it has grown by leaps and bounds. Caring citizens and Christians should become familiar with the doctrine of social justice because it is nothing short of a declaration of war against God. The outcome is always an ideology that destroys the church, the family, humanity, biblical capitalism, morality, virtue, and anything that resembles any reliance upon God’s morality.

When humanists or atheists succeed with their view of social justice and become the elite who think they become gods; this reduces those who oppose them to a level less than human. It is a machinery that degrades those who passively submit and heavily oppress those who oppose this agenda.

Writer and philosopher George Santayana said, “Those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” There are no exceptions.

William Federer in his American Minute of February 13 write’s the following:

“During World War II, Nazi General Hans Frank executed a reign of terror in Poland, plundering and committing mass murder of millions of Poles and Jews in death camps.

After the war, Hans Frank was arrested. During his imprisonment, Fr. O’Conner led him to believe in the atonement of Christ for his sins…

At the Nuremberg Trials, August 31, 1945, Hans Frank was convicted and executed. Being remorseful at his trial, Hans Frank stated:

‘At the beginning of our way we did not suspect that our turning away from God could have such disastrous deadly consequences and that we would necessarily become more and more deeply involved in guilt.

At that time we could not have known that so much loyalty and willingness to sacrifice on the part of the German people could have been so badly directed by us.

Thus, by turning away from God, we were overthrown and had to perish…’

Nazi leader Hans Frank continued:

‘…Before all, God pronounced and executed judgment on Hitler and the system which we served with minds far from God.

Therefore, may our people, too, be called back from the road on which Hitler–and we with him–have led them.

I beg of our people not to continue in this direction, be it even a single step; because Hitler’s road was the way without God, the way of turning from Christ, and, in the last analysis, the way of political foolishness, the way of disaster, and the way of death…

…His path became more and more that of a frightful adventurer without conscience or honesty, as I know today at the end of this Trial.

We call upon the German people…to return from this road which, according to the law and justice of God, had to lead us and our system into disaster and which will lead everyone into disaster who tries to walk on it…everywhere in the whole world.’”

Alexander Solzhenitsyn and Nazi General Hans Frank arrived at the same conclusion, even though both of their lives were different. Also, their involvement with their respective nations allowed them to understand the evils of sick minds regardless of how charismatic, intellectual, and powerful they became, and all the promises of a better life created by them always ended in disaster.

The wise king Solomon was right when he stated the following approximately 2967 years ago:

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” Proverbs 16:25

“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.” Proverbs 12:15

Of all people, Christians should know better how accurate Solomon’s proverbs are. We cannot say that those who reject God are the main culprits of what happens to the nations; rather we must humbly accept that when God’s people choose a different road than the one laid out by our Heavenly Father, they are the ones who bear the greatest responsibility. It is a proven fact, “…Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more” (Luke 12:48).

We must not ignore the voices of history that cry out to us: the road without God will destroy us. I know what I have to do, and I pray, that we who are called by God, respond according to his expectations. We must prove to be trustworthy, and may our hearts be ablaze with his divine revelation to engage in all areas of life to make known his ways because it is the only road toward restoration in this life. We also must know that our labor for him is not in vain and after we have finished our journey here, eternal rewards await us for a job well done.

“Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” (2 Corinthians 13:5).
