Yes, I must confess, I am being sarcastic with the exclamation “Oh, what a surprise!” Only the naïve are shocked in thinking that the man who holds the highest office in the land is the only one frustrated with the Constitution and wants to do away with it because his conviction is that it is a useless piece of paper and the Founding Fathers had no idea what they were doing.
The vision of the Founding Fathers, according to Obama, gets in the way of the “Democrats and political allies from across the aisle in Congress” who are inclined to hold on to the uncivil government that people have allowed them to create in order to implement their worldview of a “social paradise”. What he did not openly say, at least not this time, is “those Democrats and partners” who want to move faster in fundamentally transforming America are the equivalent of Vladimir Lenin’s masses of “useful idiots” who knowingly or unknowingly support the socialists, communists, Marxists, humanists, and most of all the powerful tycoons’ world agenda.
Obama’s well-crafted comment of his displeasure with the way the Constitution establishes three separate powers to keep checks and balances was made at a Democrat fundraiser in Chicago, where he stated to a small group of wealthy supporters about the problems Democrats face in the next elections for control of the U.S. Senate.
The Washington Times reports:
At a Democratic fundraiser in Chicago Thursday night, Mr. Obama told a small group of wealthy supporters that there are several hurdles to keeping Democrats in control of the Senate and recapturing the House. One of those problems, he said, is the apportionment of two Senate seats to each state regardless of population.
“Obviously, the nature of the Senate means that California has the same number of Senate seats as Wyoming. That puts us at a disadvantage,” Mr. Obama said.
The Founding Fathers decided in the “Great Compromise” in 1787 to apportion House seats based on population and give each state two seats in the Senate regardless of population. The solution was a compromise between large states and small states in a dispute that nearly dissolved the Constitutional Convention.
The president also blamed “demographics” for the inability of the Democratic Party to gain more power in Congress, saying Democrats “tend to congregate a little more densely” in cities such as New York and Chicago. He said it gives Republicans disproportional clout in Congress.
Oh yes, according to Obama, if only Democrats could control the whole nation, oh my, what a wonderful world this would be! Obama is not alone in wanting the Democrats to dominate everything. Republicans, for the most part, also want the same control in “their” favor. Do we need some proof of that? Well, just look at the condition of this nation and trace back all her problems step by step to their roots, and you are going to land at the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and the carryover of their moral collapse that started before then. Compromises were made a long time ago and here we are, suffering the consequences of ignoring most of the principles that gave us our greatness and just borrowing a small percentage from the foundation laid in 1620 of faith, morality, law, education and liberty.
Most people are accustomed to believing that compromises are good and needed in order to advance the right things. The truth is, when we understand the true nature of compromise in its full meaning and manifestation we realize how poisonous and mortal it is. When we compromise, make concessions or accommodations, which are one and the same; when an agreement is reached at any level to alter the foundational moral law of God this brings social disaster. When people have no idea what the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights, which are the first Ten Amendments, truly say, their ignorance becomes a curse that affects all of us. When God’s people are ignorant of His Revealed Truth this is even worse. It is foolish to even conceive that God compromises with his moral law:
“Joyful [blessed] are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the Lord. Joyful [blessed] are those who obey his laws and search for him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in his paths. You have charged us to keep your commandments carefully” Psalm 119:1-4 (NLT).
No human document, regardless of how much sense it makes, if it violates God’s standards it will soon open the door for the godless to overpower and dominate society; their ideas oppose God and differ greatly with His perspective. This is the reason Paul and the writer of the Hebrews letter admonished their readers two thousand years ago, and it is relevant for us. They wrote the following:
“Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ” Colossians 2:8 (NLT).
“Be careful then, dear brothers and sisters. Make sure that your own hearts are not evil and unbelieving, turning you away from the living God” Hebrews 3:12 (NLT).
Obama is acting upon his ideological convictions, there’s no surprise there. The politicians from all political parties are also expressing their convictions. He’s not the only one that lies about upholding the Constitution of the United States of America. Putting one hand on the Bible and making the oath does not convert that individual into a godly person or guarantee that he or she does not have a different agenda than the Constitution or the Bible. We are a deeply divided nation, how long can we survive? What about Christians in America? Do they uphold, live and defend the biblical principles that landed with the Pilgrims in the New World in 1620? Do they even know the biblical history of this nation? Or, do they trample on the Bible by rebelling against God’s standards? The answer is not hard to find; the condition of America speaks for itself, and this is the reason why we must have a biblical reformation if we are going to avert this national self-destruction.
You and I must stand firm in faithfulness to Him who saved us and delivered us through Christ from the power of darkness and ignorance, so we can engage with confidence in our communities that desperately need to be stimulated to use their critical thinking and break away from the cycle of ignorance and destruction.
“A servant of the Lord must not quarrel but must be kind to everyone, be able to teach, and be patient with difficult people. Gently instruct those who oppose the truth. Perhaps God will change those people’s hearts, and they will learn the truth. Then they will come to their senses and escape from the devil’s trap. For they have been held captive by him to do whatever he wants” 2 Timothy 2:24-26 (NLT).
