Bill de Blasio is the flamboyant Marxist newly elected mayor of New York City. He took office with an overwhelming majority vote of 73% according to The New York Times (NYT).   The NYT also reported the following number of people that voted in this recent mayoral election: out of a little more than four million eligible voters only 1,026,168 actually voted. Out of those who voted, 752,604 votes went to de Blasio, the Republican candidate, Joe Lhota, received 249,121 votes, and 24,443 went to others. Once again, a minority of voters has determined the outcome of NYC’s future.

During the campaign, Bill de Blasio denied the affirmation from his opponent Joe Lhota of being a “Democratic socialist” and using the philosophy of the “Marxist Playbook.”  This did not go well with de Blasio and knowing that the majority of Americans do not know the difference he affirmed to be a very proud progressive democrat. The Marxist in this nation are chameleons, they change who they are to the surrounding political, economical, religious, and cultural environment that does not embrace their destructive and failed ideology. They were liberals when it served their goals, when people began to catch up to their scams they changed and embraced the word progressive to imply they are the ones who better understand how to fix the nation’s problems. However, it’s been proven that they continue to make all matters much worse. The results of their infamous worldview are self evident to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear.

On September 22, 2013, The New York Times published an article by Javier C. Hernández:  “A Mayoral Hopeful Now, de Blasio Was Once a Young Leftist.”[1] Hernández describes de Blasio’s admiration for the Sandinista/Marxist government of Nicaragua in 1988 while touring the country for ten days. He came back to the States with a vision of a Marxist government. As expected, all this was omitted from his campaign and website, but why? Because that is what Marxist chameleons have done in this nation since the mid 1800’s.

Karl Marx sold a worldview of a paradise where everyone lives happily ever after. His followers want to better the lives of people, so, what is wrong with that? Isn’t that what all ideologies and religions want to do? Yes they do, however, the principles of their worldview is where the clash takes place. De Blasio used his Marxist platform to reach the position that will allow him to work from, and become the poster child. Why do you think Bill and Hillary Clinton were present?

Hernández said it well: “Mr. de Blasio became an ardent supporter of the Nicaraguan revolutionaries. He helped raise funds for the Sandinistas in New York and subscribed to the party’s newspaper, Barricada, or Barricade. When he was asked at a meeting in 1990 about his goals for society, he said he was an advocate of ‘democratic socialism.’”

I perfectly understand de Blasio’s desire to help the poor, however, the way he wants to do it by imitating failed ideologies will only make matters worse for the ones who can truly help the poor. What he saw in Nicaragua under the Marxist government impressed him, nevertheless it did not work. The short-lived Marxist experiment in the nation collapsed. It is true that people suffered greatly under the Somoza dynasty dictatorship. Nicaragua was and is a poor country and nothing has been able to help them out of their misery.

I too was in Marxist Nicaragua, but I did not have an epiphany like de Blasio of seeing the government as the solution to eradicate poverty, health issues, education and all the social ills that accompany every wrong worldview. I talked to a Sandinista commandant who expressed his great disappointment in their revolutionary triumph. He was also voicing the discontent of other commandants. He was not alone in his disappointment, the majority of the population felt the same way.

On the first day of my visit I was taken to have lunch at a fancy restaurant in Managua, the capital, and to my surprise the parking lot was full of brand new Mercedes Benz. I told my host, “It looks like things are going very well with the Marxist government.” His response was wait and see. As expected, inside the restaurant it was full of people and I was told they were all part of the ruling Marxist elite as well as the Cubans and Soviets who were the “advisers.” The Marxist government had confiscated property and material possessions of the rich, so now the ruling elite was occupying those dwellings and enjoying the lifestyle of the rich and powerful. They spread the wealth but only among their kind!

I saw how people lived in Marxist Nicaragua with rations that could barely feed them. I talked to people who expressed their hopes that when the revolution deposed the dictator Somoza their life would take a turn for the better except they were experiencing the opposite. In its place they got a brutal regime, a counter-revolution, food scarcity and many ills that made life more miserable than when Somoza was in power. I constantly heard people express: “We were better off with the dictator Somoza, at least we had food.”

The Marxist Sandinistas built a democracy that de Blasio admired. A democracy that promised to bring with a revolutionary victory an end to poverty, bring economic equality where everyone at all levels would benefit. It was the same dream the Socialist Republics of the Soviet Union had before they collapsed, and it is the same “democracy” that has and is destroying nations. The residents of New York City will experience what de Blasio meant by “economic equality.”

If New York City has experienced the exodus of a little more than a million people just wait and see what the city is about to go through with de Blasio. If bankrupt Detroit can be a point of reference then all guessing work is out, we know with certainty what is coming. Mr. de Blasio has a very definite vision of class warfare for the residents of New York City and he intends to use the guidelines of the Marxist playbook. Read his inauguration speech as well as the speech from the keynote speaker Harry Belafonte, a well-known communist who has a plush life thanks to this nation that gave him the opportunity to make it big but now at 86 years old he prefers to trash the system every chance he gets. And then we must not forget the incendiary and divisive invocation by the chaplain. No doubt the Marxist-infiltrated Democrats need to grow the underclass and feed the fires of racism to keep them in power and keep the division growing until they collapse America’s original foundation and build their failed socialist utopia.

Mr. de Blasio made an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States and he swore upon the Bible with the closing words of George Washington, “So help me God.” He knows this nation is no longer a Constitutional Republic, and is far from wanting to be Under God. All politician and others do the same, right? We would do well to remember Thomas Jefferson warning from 1781: “It is the manners and spirit of a people which preserve a republic in vigor. A degeneracy in these is a canker which soon eats to the heart of its laws and constitution.” More importantly, it also means more mockery before God Almighty who does not overlook the falsehood of those who use His Word to say anything as long as they are able to do their vision of a society that opposes God’s.

Elections at all levels have consequences and de Blasio’s elevation to city mayor can be a tale of what is coming to America in the next elections. If Christian America continues to be culturally apathetic then the Marxists will continue to dominate this nation more aggressively and Christianity will be a thing of the past in this land. On the other hand, If Christian America wakes up and takes personal responsibility for America’s condition and shakes off that deadly apathy we can see the resurgence of righteous individuals taking their place in the public square and everywhere fixing all that is broken. Remember, God will not be mocked.

When you spread out your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; even though you make many prayers, I will not listen; your hands are full of blood. Wash yourselves; make yourselves clean; remove the evil of your deeds from before my eyes; cease to do evil, learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow’s cause. ‘Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool. If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land; but if you refuse and rebel, you shall be eaten by the sword; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.’” Isaiah 1:15-20
