The Unsustainable Western Habits

Nena Arias | March 2, 2020

The entire world is living very interesting and turbulent times where age-old values are being turned on their head and being traded with less than desirable values to those of us who filter all of life’s building blocks with those presented in God’s Word—the Bible. After all, whose opinion is higher than his? We are his creation and who knows best how we should work more than our Creator?

Are we living at the end of the world era as we know it? There is no question that we are nearing the end of the post WWII order and something new and turbulent is taking its place which many claim are newfound freedoms, rights and privileges, but are they?

There are many reasons that affect the perpetuity of a civilization or its demise. A pillar in any civilization is the importance of having and rearing children and keeping up with a healthy survival birth rate and demographics for sustainability. A proper education for those children with a solid foundation for life goes hand in hand with having them in the first place. A society that is not prepared to usher their children into a dimension where they can have sure-footing and sustainability is ushering them into the unknown.

To get our bearings we must learn from history and the mistakes of civilizations that have declined or are declining. The civilization that once had a Christian foundation should be our main focus because all others are doomed to fail sooner or later anyway. Only building upon a solid foundation can we even hope to survive. We either build on a rock-solid foundation or on sand. Jesus said build your house on the Rock. Matthew 7:24-27 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”

Western Europe is an example of a civilization that long ago traded its rock-solid foundation on God’s Word for one of sand and we have been witnessing the results of its rapid decline. It has taken over a century and a half, but its end is eminent and we in the West are not far behind. The demographics and birth rate now say Western Europe, as we have known it, has declined and is morphing into a whole different design which is called Eurabia. The key factors are the demographic decline, the unsustainability democratic states and civilization exhaustion (please read the 37 indications of civilization headed for a fall).

The demographic decline happens when people give up having children. For the most part, this has happened to several European nations. Already Italy, Germany, and Japan have upside down family trees with older grandparents and parents but very few children and even less grandchildren. That can change the demographics in a very significant way in just two generations. Some of the European nations are already beyond being able to recover. Some western European nations have opened their borders and immigrated in large Muslim families to fill in the children they haven’t bothered to have themselves. The Europeans have 1.3 children per couple, the Muslims have 3.5. The Muslim population is growing 10 times faster than the western European population. At that rate, it won’t be long until Muslims take over.

America’s birthrate numbers are not in a much better place. America’s birthrate as of 2016 is 1.8, it is the lowest birthrate in 32 years. According to the UN Population Division, a total fertility rate of 2.1 children per woman is the replaceable level. It used to be that a driving force for having lots of children was for someone to care for the elderly. Any more with the push for a socialist government, that is no longer a worry since the government promises to take care of us all from the cradle to the grave. Never mind that socialist governments have always collapsed wherever they have been implemented. Other people’s money does not flow indefinitely; it’ll soon run out. The selfish way younger generations live and the way they have been indoctrinated to only think of their happiness and enjoyment, children are no longer being included in their mindset. If they do happen to conceive a child at an inconvenient time, their immediate “solution” is abortion.

When a broader cultural transformation takes effect, the nation suffers an identity transformation as well and in just a few generations, the original country is unrecognizable. We are seeing this happen here in America now. Not only have Americans refused to have many children but the ones we do have are being indoctrinated into hating the foundation of this country. They are being robbed of their original heritage and replacing it with a monster profile that causes children to hate their country instead of loving it.

If you factor in the most important contributor of our decline is that most mainline Protestant churches are now known to be to some degree post-Christian in that they have changed the church doctrine to be all inclusive, diverse and of a liberal mindset thereby twisting and contorting Scripture to say whatever they like or what makes them popular and accepted. They have betrayed God to be people-pleasers. God is patient but he is still God. How long before he steps in and calls us on it or just let the whole house of cards just fall in on us. Either way it spells our end. Is this statement too much of a doomsday prediction for you? Don’t take my word for it. God says that “we will reap what we sow.”

Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:7-9)

God is patient. We still have time, America. Let us not mock him or fool ourselves. Our sinful ways are unsustainable.
