All people have a god. Even those who say they don’t believe in the Almighty God. What they mean is that they don’t believe in the God of the Bible but that they have what they consider a “higher” or “adequate” form of reasoning for what they believe. Why do I say all people have a god? Because all people are building a worldview guided by some kind of system of values through which they interpret the world and life. Ideas do not come from vacuums and they all certainly have consequences.
The study of nations and peoples always reveals the predominant worldview or value system the majority of its citizens believe. It usually comes from a pagan religion that has been passed down through time and has taken deep root in most of those living in that nation or region. Even tribal civilizations have a worldview they have built and strongly believe in and practice. Also, nations who claim they are secular or atheistic have a god, because there isn’t such a thing as a godless individual or nation. Even if they won’t admit it or reason it away.
First of all, let us establish that there are only two sources where ideas and values can come from, not because I say so but because God says so. These ideas and values are either established by the God of the Bible or the enemy of God, Satan. God says, “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters” (Matthew 12:30). Ladies and gentlemen, God’s world is that clear. It is either black or white. People like to think they can create gray areas and live there or deny this reality altogether and endeavor to create their own. But that is impossible because God will never approve mixing his principles and values with those of humans, least of all Satan’s. If there is a mixture, it is not God-approved, therefore it belongs directly to Satan’s side of things.
The foundation of our country, the United States of America, was established on the God of the Bible and his value system, for the most part. Was it strictly and perfectly established on biblical values? No, it was not! But it was clearly within the biblical camp, and many moral and ethical values still are.
However, at this stage in the life of our country we must admit we have drifted away from our biblical principles and are placing more and more values at the same level of importance as biblical values, which is proving to be a deadly mistake and we are suffering the horrific consequences.
We all need self-governance and limited civil government for a good order of living. That is the system lauded in America from the beginning. This is no longer the case; it is only given lip service. Most people require civil government to tell them or force them how to live, which is why the government now holds all the strings that control our lives.
William Penn said, “Men must be governed by God or they will be ruled by tyrants.”
Most Americans don’t want to admit it, but we now live under tyranny in this country. The government has the last word on how everything is done. And of the government branches that has become the most tyrannical of all is the judiciary; the Supreme Court of the United States has become God.
This is why, to hear how some of the liberal mindset are talking now that the Supreme Court is requiring a new appointee, now that Justice Anthony Kennedy has retired, and the shift of ideas is in the balance, you would think that God has died.
A person tweeted: “Literally in tears. Haven’t felt this hopeless in a long time. With Justice Kennedy leaving, we now have two options as Americans: get fitted for your Nazi uniform or report directly to your death camp. How do you fight the darkness without light? My spark is going out.”
California Sen. Kamala Harris said, it is the “destruction of the Constitution of the United States.”
The experiment the founders created is where “we the people” would govern ourselves. They were certain it would work because they had faith in the fear of God and the godly values most Americans embraced and adhered to and never dreamed we would become as godless as we have. They thought the judiciary was the least branch to corrupt itself because all they had to do was enforce the law not create it. But, as we have seen, in the recent decades the highest court has grabbed more power than we could have imagined. When faithfully followed, the Constitution creates a balance of powers so none of the three branches may become more powerful over the others. Congress can always appeal and rescind any ruling of the high court, but that power is not used, which makes the Supreme Court have the last word, thus making it the God of the Land. We have even seen how the single swing voter in the high court can be the most powerful person in this country.
We are experiencing the Supreme Court literally govern our lives by what they say the Constitution says, and mistakenly people assume that’s the way it is supposed to be.
The courts, especially the Supreme Court, have corrupted our values by legislating from the bench the following cases which can be looked up online:
- Pornography on demand, Roth v. United States (1957) and Miller v. California (1973).
- No school prayer allowed, Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Murray v. Curlette (1963).
- No official Bible reading of a devotional nature in schools, Abbington v. Schempp (1963).
- Abortion on demand, Roe v. Wade (1973). Roe was based on lies. Before she died, the “Roe” in this case, Norma McCorvey, became a pro-life activist but worked in vain to get the ruling overturned.
- No Ten Commandments can be posted in the schools, Stone v. Graham (1980). The justices actually said in that decision: “If the posted copies of the Ten Commandments are to have any effect at all, it will be to induce the schoolchildren to read, meditate upon, perhaps to venerate and obey, the Commandments. However desirable this might be as a matter of private devotion, it is not a permissible state objective under the Establishment Clause.”
- No equal time for creation science in the classroom, Edwards v. Aguilard (1987).
- States are not free to prohibit the granting of special legal rights to homosexuals, Romer v. Evans (1996).
- States are not free to outlaw sodomy, Lawrence v. Texas (2003). This decision was cited by the Massachusetts Supreme Court when it took the next logical step and granted the right to same-sex marriage.
- Same-sex marriage is supposedly the law of the land, Obergefell v. Hodges (2015), the Supreme Court justices in the majority actually thought they could redefine what marriage is. Such audacity!
- Colleges are free to oust a Christian group from campus if it will not allow for homosexuals to be among their leaders, Martinez v. Hastings (2010).
The list is long, but you get the picture. The question remains, who made the Supreme Court God in America? We have allowed it. The Constitution allows us ample support to right this wrong. It is time to urge Congress to act.
