America, when are you going to accept you must deal with the nature of evil in all its manifestations and not just the obvious ones? Every time a massive massacre takes place, the word “evil” repeatedly makes the headlines in all the informative outlets, and rightfully so. However, that should not be the only time attention should be given to the adverse outcome of evil actions perpetrated by one person or by many.

First of all, we continue to pray for all those who lost a loved one in the Las Vegas slaughter. Their loss is irreparable. The hurt and pain are more than anyone can imagine if they have never lost a loved one at the hands of a killer, especially a family member. Those of us that have experienced the loss of a loved one at the hands of a criminal can identify with such a loss. By no means am I implying that others cannot express empathy or offer prayers for the suffering of others. Prayers are being offered for the hundreds that were injured and are facing different levels of recovery; prayer does play a significant part in the healing process.

At the moment of writing this nothing is clear yet about what motivated the killer to carry such an act of bloodshed and plain terrorism. One fact is evident, the killer planned with plenty of time and details of what he wanted to accomplish and most definitely is not the work of someone spontaneously snapping. Also, we must acknowledge, and never forget, all the acts of heroism displayed at such a time of chaos. These acts should be the front-page headlines in all news venues, it should be table conversation and acknowledged in all types of social settings. 

The nation has to continue dealing with the aftermath of this horrendous tragedy. Like all tragedies the evil agendas of politicians, the deceitful main media, so-called intellectuals, socialist left ideologues, misguided religious leaders, Christians of all persuasions without the biblical worldview misinterpreting or reacting emotionally, do not understand the deeper national problem these acts of violence convey. Also included in this misunderstanding are “conservative humanists,” and some “multi-millionaires” who live and travel with an army of security guards thinking they know better how to interpret life by observing life through the eyes of their privileged yet limited and faulty worldview. There are also highly opinionated people in the entertainment industry, whose lucrative lives may consist of play acting roles that promote guns, killings and violence, yet they are among some of the first to raise their voices for “gun control now” in spite of the known fact they have bodyguards, and live in gated communities. Let us not forget the industry of evil indoctrination of children and the youth through video games filled with killings and many other sources that promote evil. The list is long, but you get the idea. 

In the face of firearms violence, the old lie by the leftist ideology and associates is heard over and over again

The call for “gun control now” is heard like a mantra. And now they are going a step further calling to amend or eliminate the Second Amendment. They want to accomplish this by presenting false facts stating there are too many guns and that is the cause of senseless killings, but the facts don’t add up. Do you have any idea how many people in the United States legally own guns? The U.S. civilian population is the most armed people in the world with close to 300 million firearms. The law-abiding citizen understands the Second Amendment and the use of lethal force for self-defense. It is absurd to think guns are the problem. How many millions of American legal gun owners wake up every day with the idea of killing another human being just because they own a firearm?

The Bible’s full counsel includes the lawful use of weapons. Of special interest is to know that before Jesus’ arrest, and execution, he told the disciples to buy swords for their self-defense (Luke 22:36). Two of the disciples were sword carriers (Luke 22:38). By no means do we interpret that Jesus implied the use of weapons as the means to advance God’s message. That is absurd!

Can gun control stop evil? It never has and never will; those who say it can use this as a manipulative political exploit when they want to control people and not allow them to defend themselves against oppressive, tyrannical regimes. Nations that do not allow their citizens to legally own firearms only open the door for criminals to take over and cause the rise of despotic, oppressive, tyrannical governments.

Why don’t we hear newscaster report of all the criminal acts stopped by legal gun carrying, law-abiding citizens? The reason the media is silent of all the good done by an armed population is because it does not fit the leftist narrative, instead destroys it by exposing all those self-righteous hypocrites that hire armed protection for themselves yet want to stop the nation from doing the same so they can be in control.  

The greatest weapons of mass destruction employed in the USA are not firearms

Why is it that we don’t hear the report of the daily mass murder of defenseless human beings in the mother’s womb, nor do we see every day massive manifestations to end this bloodshed? We do not see the halls of Congress filled with people demanding that legislators pass a law to stop this horrendous and evil carnage. 

Since 1973, everyday doctors use their profession to destroy human life in the most horrifying and blood-curdling ways; they do it “legally” because seven sick minds in the Supreme Court approved the mother’s choice to terminate her baby’s life. Since that fatal date doctors use the “surgical” tools to kill the unborn and those are the weapons of mass destruction that have taken the lives of these innocent victims now approaching 60 million mark of innocent and defenseless babies. Why is it that those who take to the streets to protest “Black Lives Matter” do not raise their voices in anger against the murder of close to 18 million black babies that have been slaughtered since 1973? Why is it that so many billionaires and millionaires, the media, Hollywood machinery, and the world of academia approve and donate financial resources to the abortion industry?  

Abortion is one of the worst crimes in all of human history. Since when did most of the people of the United States stop believing in: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness”? Where are the rights of the Americans developing in the mother’s womb and for how long will the citizens consent to this crime beyond description?

The multifaceted manifestation of evil

One of the ironies is the use of the word evil by those who deny the existence of The Creator, God Almighty yet they are borrowing the concept from God’s revealed Word, the Bible. The voices proclaiming that we are creatures that came into existence from nothing and that truth is irrelevant may find it hard to accept that their ideas promote evil behavior. If humans evolved from animals into who knows what according to Darwin’s theories in his Origin of Species, do we have any control over evil actions? Darwin endeavored to explain the misery in the world by using the phrase “survival of the fittest,” so how can we expect good behavior to be the norm? The religion of evolution does not have concrete and reliable solutions to complex problems created by human ideas and actions. The evolutionist ideological foundation is unreliable, dangerous and destructive; it opens the door for human life to be totally disregarded, and all other forms of life in every manifestation for that matter. 

Evolution, like every other worldview, has to deal with the consequences of evil. Atheists acknowledge the reality of evil even though they deny the existence of God. Pantheism acknowledges the reality of God but denies the existence of evil. The Bible upholds the certainty of both God and evil. God created the world and since he is all-knowing he knew what was going to happen. Our perfect God is not the creator of imperfection and evil is not his doing. Initially, the first parents of humanity were created perfect. They were given the power of free choice, and they chose to do evil. The sources of evil are the supernatural demonic forces. God gives freedom for people to use their free will for good and it is the responsibility of free-willed creatures to resist evil and not to promote it in any possible way. The Lexham Theological Wordbook’s definition for evil is:

The concept of evil generally describes behavior or attitudes characterized by extreme wickedness and intent to cause social, physical, psychological, emotional, or spiritual harm. The concept encompasses moral, ethical, behavioral, and spiritual dimensions.1

All dictionaries have a definition for evil, and some include extensive synonyms shedding light on the awfulness of human behavior for not conforming to high moral standards. There can be no other foundation for understanding by what rules we should live other than those revealed in God’s Word, the Bible.

All evil will be destroyed in time. Jesus came to destroy Satan, the father of lies, and the originator of all that is evil, even actions that may be considered good on the surface, yet are rooted in evil. Implementing laws dealing with and sanctioning evil can help control this lawlessness that is now asphyxiating society to a point. But until we recognize and acknowledge all seeds of evil, which originate in the heart and mind of individuals who need an internal transformation, evil cannot be dealt with efficiently.

Jesus said:

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person.  Matthew 15:19-20a (ESV)

When Jesus is allowed to enter into the heart of people it is the only solution to cure evil in the heart of mankind. Jesus offers a way out to those who accept his offer of salvation, the new birth in the Spirit of God, to be guided by the Holy Spirit as they daily nourish in God’s Word. When America turns back to God only then will people be better prepared to engage in the historical world wars of this world battle between good and evil.

Let me bring to our attention a look back into history. On Election Day, May 31, 1775, Harvard President Samuel Langdon addressed the Massachusetts Provincial Congress. The message had a profound impact, resulting in it being published and distributed throughout the colonies:

We have rebelled against God. We have lost the true spirit of Christianity, though we retain the outward profession and form of it. We have neglected and set light by the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and His holy commands and institutions.

The worship of many is but mere compliment to the Deity, while their hearts are far from Him. By many, the Gospel is corrupted into a superficial system of moral philosophy, little better than ancient Platonism….

Wherefore is all this evil upon us? Is it not because we have forsaken the Lord? Can we say we are innocent of crimes against God? No, surely it becomes us to humble ourselves under His mighty hand, that He may exalt us in due time….

My brethren, let us repent and implore the divine mercy. Let us amend our ways and our doings, reform everything that has been provoking the Most High, and thus endeavor to obtain the gracious interpositions of Providence for our deliverance….

If God be for us, who can be against us? The enemy has reproached us for calling on His name and professing our trust in Him. They have made a mock of our solemn fasts and every appearance of serious Christianity in the land….

May our land be purged from all its sins! Then the Lord will be our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble, and we will have no reason to be afraid, though thousands of enemies set themselves against us round about.

May the Lord hear us in this day of trouble…. We will rejoice in His salvation, and in the name of our God, we will set up our banners.2
