Contrary to what anyone may say, every human thought and action does matter. In the recent mid-term election the majority of responsible citizens in America said enough with the ungodly agenda that is increasingly destroying our society!
The message to the Democrats was clear: your fictitious racist card and war on women didn’t work and is not acceptable, neither are your policies of social and economic destruction; they have never worked and never will.
To the elected Republicans the message is: do not think for a moment we are your puppets and rubber stamp. You were not put in office to use us as your political pawns or to continue ruining the country for future generations. You were not called to do politics/business as usual. Your mandate from “We The People” is to stop all lawlessness and crony capitalism, never compromise; we want to restore America back to her biblical foundation and true conservative values. To church leadership, the message to you is: accept your responsibility before God and man to teach the biblical worldview and values of God’s moral absolutes in all areas of life and culture. Stop robbing God’s people, the nation and the world from the incomparable blessings of being a righteous nation. The message to every professing Christian is that you are personally responsible for gaining God’s knowledge and understanding His expectations of you from His Word. Do not blame anyone for your ignorance and put forth the effort to educate yourself in God’s knowledge and how it applies in your life, family, profession, community, state, nation and the world. Let others know the marvelous advantage of the born-again experience in Christ.
I salute all the pastors who stood up against the unconstitutional separation of church and state and boldly proclaimed the truth against unrighteousness. Men want to muzzle the voice of biblical truth and reason, but they can only succeed if God’s people cower in the face of that challenge. I sincerely believe we are witnessing the sparks that are igniting the fire of the coming biblical reformation.
Since 1994, The Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) was founded to repeal the unconstitutional gagging of the church from preaching on political issues. Then-Senator Lyndon B. Johnson from Texas in 1954 proposed an Amendment that was adopted to trample on the churches First Amendment rights. It was Johnson’s retaliation when the churches exposed the dark side of his political ideas. He professed to be a “Christian” and member of the Stone-Campbell (Restoration Movement) denomination better known as the “Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).” In 2008, the ADF launched the Pulpit Freedom Sunday initiative to reverse Johnson’s decision that was also supported by other legislators who were violating the Constitution. At first, the number of pastors that answered the call to stand up and speak up against such a heinous law were only 33. Every year since then the number of bold pastors has grown in numbers and audacity. This year’s Pulpit Freedom Sunday had over 1,500 pastors from across the nation participating. The message to their congregations about social and political issues was not limited to one Sunday but all the way up to Election Day November 4.
These courageous pastors presented to their congregations the biblical perspective of the various candidates. One of the many examples is pastor Jim Garlow. Speaking to 2,000 church members of Skyline Church in San Diego, CA, he let them know of his opposition to the homosexual Republican running for the House of Representatives, Carl DeMaio, who proclaimed to be the new voice of the GOP. Pastor Garlow explained: “I want babies protected in the womb. I want marriage defined as one man, one woman. You can’t have the advancing of the radical homosexual agenda and religious liberty at the same time; one will win and one will lose…. If a member of the IRS gets this sermon, or is listening, sue me!” [1] The message was also clear to the Republican leadership: candidates who are in favor of murdering children in the mother’s womb and favor homosexual rights are going to be continually rejected because of the party’s Christian base.
The Republican pro-family and pro-life platform should not be compromised, if they do then take notice of pastor Garlow’s stand, which reflects the convictions of thousands of pastors and millions of Christians. True biblical Christians will not endorse the homosexual agenda nor uphold the murder of babies in the mother’s womb as a “natural acceptable lifestyle or as a woman’s health issue.” For some GOP leaders it’s all about winning elections; for others it is about the principles of right and wrong as they are defined by ethical biblical principles; there is a clear divide.
Carl DeMaio lost the majority of Christian voters in the San Diego area not because he is Republican, rather for his same-sex marriage and abortion agenda. As you can see, Mr. Speaker of the House, John Boehner, your support and fundraising for DeMaio did not go unnoticed. Neither did your other homosexual Republican Congressional Candidate in Massachusetts win, Richard Tisei, who also lost in spite of heavy Democrat endorsement. For that matter, Mr. Boehner, I hope you and your like-minded fellow Republicans have learned the lesson of this Mid-Term election. It is not about the brand, rather, about principles, the very principles that you and others, sir, promised to uphold but have clearly betrayed.
Bottom line, America is deeply divided about right and wrong, and light and darkness. Man’s ways and God’s ways are in collision, and none of us are exempt from the effects. I wholehearted agree with Abraham Lincoln when he stated: “Sir, my concern is not whether God is on our side; my greatest concern is to be on God’s side, for God is always right.”
Are you a Christian and love God and Jesus? Great, then you want to obey them and do their will; no different than Ezekiel when he was called to be a watchperson:
“And at the end of seven days, the word of the Lord came to me: ‘Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, «You shall surely die», and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness, or from his wicked way, he shall die for his iniquity, but you will have delivered your soul. Again, if a righteous person turns from his righteousness and commits injustice, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die. Because you have not warned him, he shall die for his sin, and his righteous deeds that he has done shall not be remembered, but his blood I will require at your hand. But if you warn the righteous person not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall surely live, because he took warning, and you will have delivered your soul’” (Ezekiel 3:16-21).
We are seeing answers to prayers for social action, and we must not keep silent; people need to know God’s truth:
“Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, ‘Behold, we did not know this,’ does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work?” (Proverbs 24:11-12).
With a watchful eye, open ears, and a willingness to speak up with boldness and wisdom from God, we should not give an inch back to the evil one.
