The Vast Difference Between Hatred and Moral Conviction

Things are getting worse for Christians in the United States of America. How would you answer the following questions: How far down the road toward communism is this nation?  How well do you know the Communist ideology? I know that most people might laugh and may even judge these questions as preposterous, or may think it is incredulous that I’m asking them.  Some may say, “Communism died when the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.” I’m sure we could add other answers to these probabilities. Bear with me; I must ask you one more question: Are you familiar with the Ten Planks of the Communist Manifesto of 1848 by Karl Heinrich Marx? You can easily find them on the Internet, read them and compare their content with the social landscape of America.

The United States of America is known the world over as the beacon of freedom, free markets, and private property. However, that has gradually been changing for over 150 years from the original Biblical Christianity to a more secularized mindset promoted by the left’s ideology. Those who want Christianity to conform to the secular ideas have increased their attacks. Why? Biblical Christianity is the only force that not only opposes them but also unmasks their evil intentions. The U.S. has not lost all the inherited freedoms, but a turn back to them is a must if the nation is going to be saved.

Recently, on July 28, I was reading about another assault against a Christian business, similar to what has happened to other Christian business owners in several states. The attacks are the outcome of refusing to provide products or service to same-sex weddings.  The heading of the article in the Christian Post reads: “Christian Bridal Shop Closes Doors to Public After Receiving Threats for Denying Lesbian Wedding Dress.” Here are some highlights:

A Christian-owned bridal shop in Pennsylvania has temporarily closed its doors to the public and is now only accepting appointments after its owner received threats because the shop refused to serve a lesbian couple looking for a wedding dress…

However, the couple was told at W.W. Bridal, which had already experienced much scrutiny from LGBT activists and left-leaning media in 2014 for refusing an appointment for a same-sex couple, that the store could not accommodate their request because they were Christian….

The couple took to Facebook to discuss how they were denied service and tagged W.W. Bridal in the post. According to PGN, the shop initially responded by issuing a Facebook post that has since been deleted.

“The owners of W.W. Bridal Boutique reserve the rights afforded to them by the First Amendment of the Constitution to live out our lives according to our faith,” the W.W. Bridal post was quoted as stating. “We will continue to serve our customers based on the tenets of our faith.”

Following the PGN report, nationally recognized left-leaning outlets such as the Huffington Post and Yahoo Style picked up on the article. The shop’s co-owner, Victoria Miller, told the Huffington Post in an email that their refusal was based on a matter of religious beliefs.

“We have provided formalwear for our customers from all walks of life, including the LGBTQ community. We have always served everyone with respect and dignity,” Miller wrote. “It is just this event, a same-sex marriage, which we cannot participate in due to our personal convictions.”

“We simply ask that we be given the same ability to live our lives according to our convictions,” she added.

Some LGBT supporters did not respond too kindly to the news of W.W. Bridal’s refusal of service…

Miller has decided to close her shop temporarily and only accept appointments.

The decision, Penkoski said, was due in part to the fact that they have been threatened by a person angry with their choice to refuse service for same-sex weddings. Penkoski shared audio of a voicemail the shop received on Tuesday with CP.

“You stupid f****** bigots. We are coming for you and your family,” a man declared in the voicemail. “We are going to tear your shop a part and make you feel as bad as you have made people feel. You f****** bigot scum. You are going down and so is all your employees and their families. You’re done!”

Yes, there is a vast difference between hatred and faith based on moral convictions. The U.S. Supreme Court redefined marriage on Jun 26, 2015, by a vote of 5-4, throwing the doors wide open for social conflict between the religious freedoms and those who have a preference for people of the same sex and their desire for social recognition in marriage. What we see now is the growing boldness of the homosexual community’s hatred and threats against Christians. Take notice that this hatred is not directed toward Muslims who refuse service to the homosexual community. One of the first aims of the socialist and the communist agenda is to dismantle the Christian freedoms to express their convictions.

Two thousand years ago the religious leaders that hated Jesus were looking for an opportunity to catch him in violation to God’s law and condemn him to death. On one occasion, setting one of those traps, they asked him about God’s greatest commandment, and he answered:

“What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”  And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself. And he said to him, ‘You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.’” Luke 10:26-28 (ESV)

God’s moral law is superior to any other; in his law, we find the only standards for right living, and those don’t change with the times or social trends. Loving others regardless of their beliefs and lifestyle preferences does not mean acceptance of their ideas as equal to those of God:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV)

Biblical Christians do not consider themselves morally superior to anyone, nor do they harbor hatred, bigotry, or any ounce of phobias against others; the reason is straightforward, they know what it is to experience God’s love and forgiveness. Men or governments do not grant real liberty. Rather, it is internal, and to acquire it the human spirit must be born-again.

The cultural decline of the United States of America, as well as those of other nations, is following the same immoral humanist path that brought the collapse to other great civilizations.

The obsession of embracing socialism and Marxism, regardless of what an enormous failure it has proved to be, never goes well in our time either. Real liberty is not of human origin but divine. Fighting God’s divine will on earth as it is in heaven historically has been a losing battle and it is no different in the 21st century.

When people are on God’s side, they will never lose and must continue to do what is right in love and not harbor any hatred because it is the right thing to do. Biblical Christian’s loyalty belongs to the only true God, the Almighty.
