Christians Targeted in Oregon’s Mass Shooting

Ramon Arias | October 5, 2015

Do you still have any doubts that Christians are being targeted in America? Attacks against Christians have taken the ultimate turn for the worse when they are being killed for their faith; it is a worrisome day.

The assassin, Chris Harper Mercer, went to Oregon’s Umpqua Community College, a gun free zone, and selectively sought out Christians as they identified their faith and then heard the executioner’s statement: “Good, because you’re a Christian, you’re going to see God in just about one second.”

What was the focus of the liberal media in this incident? Where was the outrage and outcry from the left and the liberal progressives? What prompted Obama to rashly speak to the nation in prime time before all the facts were in? As expected, they raised their voices with their favorite mantra: gun control, aka gun confiscation!

Remember, they don’t like to waste a crisis. Obama’s own strong words were: “This is something we should politicize.” “It is relevant to our common life together, to the body politic.” What he means is that only the left worldview of politics is the one that matters, all others don’t have a platform and it is time for the opposition to fold, lie down, roll over and die.

Obama also had something for those annoying rebels who cling to their Bibles and their guns:

“Our thoughts and prayers are not enough. It’s not enough. It does not capture the heartache and grief and anger that we should feel and it does nothing to prevent this carnage from being inflicted somewhere else in America.”

Of course, he is focusing on those gullible citizens who are clueless of what is really taking place in America and clueless of the direction these godless politicians are leading us. Obama’s agenda of making government bigger and more intrusive in people’s lives is what matters most, according to the doctrine he ascribes. He mocks the power of prayer; he is clueless on how this nation’s foundations were built on the Bible, prayer, fasting and thanksgiving. It is precisely the removal of these core foundations from public schools and the public square that has led us into this progressive national degradation. In 1962 the Supreme Court removed prayer from public schools, in 1963 they removed the Bible. Social Darwinism took control of the public schools and children and young people began to openly be indoctrinated into rejecting America’s Biblical Christian foundation.

Things did not get any better for the most defenseless members in America, in fact, they got worse because in 1973 the same court sentenced unborn children to death upon the mother’s or both parents’ decision to put an end to the life of their offspring. In 2015 the same court, in violation of the United States Constitution, legislated a law declaring the legality of same-sex marriage.

Does Obama even care to stop this massacre of unborn humans? No, to the contrary, he demands more money to fund the baby-killing industry of Planned Parenthood. Why doesn’t Obama plead with grief and anger for Planned Parenthood to stop the murdering of 327,000 children every year? Because he doesn’t care and he knows he is in good company with minions like him.

I was listening to the keynote speaker at a fundraiser for a pregnancy care center, Abby Johnson. For eight years she was with Planned Parenthood, she was so dedicated she rose in the organization’s ranks and became a clinic director. On September 26, 2009 she watched in horror as a 13-week baby fought, and ultimately lost its life at the hand of the abortionist. At that moment, the full realization of what abortion was and what she had dedicated her life to washed over Abby and a dramatic transformation took place. She became pro-woman, pro-child, and pro-life. She is the founder and President of And Then There Were None.

I want to bring to your attention three things she said: first, in all the years she attended her evangelical church she never heard the pastor preach or teach about abortion. When she worked at the abortion clinic she continued to attend church and most of the congregants supported Planned Parenthood. Second, 70% of the women who decide to terminate the life of their conceived baby are Christians. And third, the greatest blame of what is taking place in the nation falls squarely upon the shoulders of Christianity. Please don’t brush off what she said.

Beware of those who put on a show of horror and denounce the mass murder but they are very comfortable supporting the killing of babies whose blood soaks the landscape of this nation, and without a doubt are crying out to Almighty God for justice.

Beware of those who demand more laws for gun control but will never give up their personal armed security. Have you ever asked yourself if Obama is so against guns why doesn’t he ask his secret service to be unarmed and declares the White House a gun free zone? Don’t hold your breath, he will never do that; he loves his life too much to lose it at the hands of an assassin. His life and that of his family should be protected because there are a lot of crazy people that have no respect for human life. We, our loved ones and those around us whose lives are endangered by an evil person, deserve the same protection, or are we less worthy? God Almighty forbids it!

Obama and all those who want to disarm law-abiding citizens must pay attention to what James Madison said: “The ultimate authority … resides in the people alone. … [T]he advantage of being armed, which the Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation … forms a barrier against the enterprises of ambition, more insurmountable than any.” —James Madison (1788)

The protection of life is a right and a responsibility. Read the Declaration of Independence and the Second Amendment, it will be very helpful to you. Most important of all, it is a God-given right to self-defense that even Jesus told his disciples, “…And let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one.” (Luke 22:36)

Keep in mind that Obama, the leftist media and politicians, could care less about Christians. If the assassin had targeted Muslims, blacks, illegal immigrants or atheists, what do you think we would be hearing next? You’ve got it!

You and I must not lose sight that the main targets of the executioner in this mass shooting were Christians. When the killer asked those who professed to be Christians to stand up, and they did, showed that they were not ashamed of their faith. They became martyrs of the faith; please understand what is being required in this sinful and perverse generation; this is the testimony they left us. Their executioner was right, they saw God and He welcomed them and they heard the words of Jesus welcoming them home and giving them entrance into the joy of their Master. Their killer also has now received the consequences of his choices, which he now knows, were misguided and terrible.

The teachings of the colonial pulpits taught the biblical perspective of politics and government in order for people to understand the times they were living in. They took their biblical vocation seriously and used the Bible to corroborate that God’s moral law is the foundation where all laws must rest upon in order to have moral sanity in a society.

I hope and pray that your pastor is addressing the social issues from God’s perspective and for you to understand what are the things that you ought to be doing in order to receive approval by God Almighty.

I also hope and pray that your pastor is fearless and preaches with the Holy Spirit’s power, knowledge, and wisdom like the preachers of colonial times that got involved in resisting the evils of their time.

My prayers are that your church becomes a bright light in this darkened community, state, nation and our world and that you are all diligently praying and working toward ushering in a biblical Reformation.
