When a Man’s Ways Please the Lord

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
(Proverbs 16:7)

If God is anything, he is faithful to what he has promised and declared in his Word to bring it to pass, and we know his Word will never change. This is why God, and his Word are so trustworthy.

Today marks the 22nd anniversary of one of the most horrific attacks we have ever experienced here in the United States besides the attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

On September 11, 2001, Islamists, an avid enemy of the West, attacked our nation on our soil by crashing commercial planes into the World Trade Center demolishing both towers and killing thousands of people. It was a day we will never forget. It shook us to the very core of our beings, and more than hearing the voice of this formidable enemy, we heard the voice of God loud and clear that we were no longer protected by his hand like we had been before.

This attack was not the design of men but of God Almighty allowing it to come upon us since our country had long turned its back on him and his principles since the latter part of the 19th century. A very marked slide off of our biblical foundation began its course which has not ceased to this day and is only getting worse. We traded the truth of God for the whims and fallacies created by men to substitute God in our country and culture. The introduction of the theory of Evolution into the institutes of higher learning began a long and persistent quest to supplant the God of the Bible from our foundation to enthrone men in his place and we have to admit it has been highly successful.

This date of September 11, 2001, is a date never to be forgotten not only because we were attacked so horrifically but because an attack on Christendom was heard the world over. It is well known that Islamists are enemies of Christ. But we are not innocent of this. Turning our back on God and his principles that were firmly established in our country’s foundation has made us enemies of Christ as well.

The only thing that can vindicate us now is for America to return to the defense of our Christian faith and seek to honor God once again and restore him to his rightful place at the helm of our nation.

To accomplish returning back to God will require great sacrifice. But we must do this willingly with joy in our hearts much like the faithful believers did in the past to pass onto us the purity of the Gospel. Preserving the purity of the Gospel has always required this price to be paid by those who want to be faithful to God. Believers of the past went willingly to be burned at the stake to not betray the truth of God. How much are we willing to sacrifice in obedience to God? We must be resolved to save God’s truth in America.

If God cannot find enough righteous in America, we will only continue to be attacked again and again and weakened to the core if we don’t make peace with God.

President George W. Bush stated:

“America was targeted … because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world …”

But I ask you, can we truly have freedom when we have betrayed the truth of God? It is only his truth that sets us free. Jesus said it very plainly, “You will know the truth and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

To experience peace in America we must once again have peace with God just like it says,

“When a man’s ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.”
(Proverbs 16:7)
