Hypocrisy and Double Standards at a Fever Pitch

Nena Arias | July 6, 2020

I am disgusted, but not surprised, of the double-minded reasons and behavior many people are using these days to justify their absurd and bizarre decisions and behavior merely to get their way with no consideration to our rule of law and the rights of others. They could care less that they are ruining our nation by destroying the foundation it is built upon and therefore robbing future generations of citizens of the valuable legacy and heritage we have been given in this country.

Both, people among the citizenry as well as some in government at all levels are behaving like they have never heard of decency, common sense and have never considered truly being law-abiding for the common good. They completely ignore that in this country, the United States of America, we are blessed to have a process to change anything that needs amending at all levels even all the way up to amending the Constitution. But to these lazy and lawless people the only thing that stands in their capricious way is the hard work to pay their dues in doing the footwork, which can take years and decades of lobbying, reasoning by actually using their brain to educate themselves in the history and requirements to bring about the changes in a legal and peaceful way.

Since they have had it too easy and have no clue, or refuse to think about the sacrifice of blood, sweat and tears it cost others to give us this nation, they simply act like spoiled brats throwing their tantrums and working their sneakiness to get what they want and don’t care who they step on.

Thugs, who band together to destroy private and federal property simply to say “I want what others have without having to work for it” have gone crazy and are spinning out of control. The only way to adequately name this is thuggery and anarchy.

This is an example. The city of Minneapolis allowed a large group of people to carry on with what they called “peaceful protesting”. The people were justified to protest strongly against the brutal police behavior that resulted in the unnecessary death of a man named George Floyd. All decent law-abiding citizens grant that the reason for protesting was justified when on May 25, 2020, George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, was killed in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during an arrest for allegedly using a counterfeit bill. But the chaos and lawlessness that ensued in many cities even to the point of calling for disbanding the police and putting untrained people such as social workers, mental health providers and psychologists to handle crimes and violence where normally trained and qualified law enforcement would come in is preposterous! Believe it or not, now defunding law enforcement is being seriously considered in many cities with Minneapolis, Minnesota leading the charge. But the hypocrisy in this is breathtaking because now the council members who voted to disband the police have hired private security to protect them at tax-payers expense. Go figure! Do the words “hypocrisy and double standard” come to mind?

An article posted by GOPUSA reports:

The City of Minneapolis is spending $4,500 a day for private security for three council members who have received threats following the police killing of George Floyd, FOX 9 has learned.

A city spokesperson said the private security details have cost taxpayers $63,000 over the past three weeks.

The three council members who have the security detail – Andrea Jenkins (Ward 8), and Phillipe Cunningham (Ward 4), and Alondra Cano (Ward 9)– have been outspoken proponents of defunding the Minneapolis Police Department.

Councilmember Phillipe Cunningham declined to discuss the security measures.

“I don’t feel comfortable publicly discussing the death threats against me or the level of security I currently have protecting me from those threats,” said Cunningham in a text message.

Do you see the hypocrisy and fraud in these council members who have without a doubt lost their bearings, if they ever had any that is. Is there even a brain in their heads? It is tragic to see what is happening in our country, but I am so happy to say they are not the majority. I know the “silent majority” is waiting patiently in the sidelines until our November elections to throw many of these airheads out of office and get some sanity back into our national life. In the meantime, show up and be counted. Contact these out-of-control public servants to make sure they know that what they are doing is totally unacceptable. Look for ways in your community how you can make a difference. Contact your representatives and express your opinion.

If you love America, don’t stand in the sidelines and just watch your country go down the drain. First, pray to our heavenly Father and ask for forgiveness for our national sins. Register to vote and actually do it! Pay attention to who is in your city council body and make sure they know you are keeping an eye on them. Hold their feet to the fire. The government in our nation is “of the people, by the people and for the people”.  Let’s do our job!

When the righteous increase, the people rejoice,
but when the wicked rule, the people groan.
(Proverbs 29:2)

Godless men should not rule or lay snares for the people.
