The “Elephantcare” Health Plan is Juggled and Divisive

Ramon Arias | March13, 2017

“Wisdom rests in the heart of a man of understanding, but it makes itself known even in the midst of fools. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” Proverbs 14:33-34 (ESV)

Should we accept juggled misinformation and compromise for the sake of big government in handling our health care? Can anyone point out ANY nation that has succeeded in its national health plans?  The answer to both questions is a resounding, NO!

The definition of the word juggle is: continuous toss into the air and catch (a number of objects) so as to keep at least one in the air while handling the others.” The other definition is, “organize (information or figures) in order to give a particular impression.”

Whatever happened to the promised repeal and replace Obamacare?  What we have been presented with, as we are finding out, is what I now call “Elephantcare”, which has created a great divide among Republicans in Congress between those who want to fulfill the promise and those who are the ever-present Republican establishment. There are those who work for large enterprises that make trillions of dollars and want the American people to remain slaves to the evil system that is damaging the present and future generations with entitlements and massive debt.

The RINOs (Republicans in name only) are always a thorn in the side of genuine progress; you can’t tell the difference between them and the Socialist Democrats. Both groups think they can indefinitely fool people as the guardians of the nation and the world ad nauseam as we hear their unsustainable arguments about how great their plans are. While they are successful in fooling or confusing millions of people that lack knowledge and understanding of a limited government, there is the other half of the population that has been rudely awakened and will not sit idly by as they research to arm themselves with facts and more facts to fight back.

The elected officials, who affirm that health care is complicated, are either fooling themselves or camouflaging the truth so they can continue enslaving people and collecting the profits for themselves and their interest groups. The basic premise for them is that people are too stupid to know what is best for them. Therefore, the nanny state must take them by the hand and lead them to the slaughter.

The Obamacare is now being replaced by a different name: Ryancare, RINOcare, Obamacare lite, Obamacare 2.0, Trumpcare, etc. I call it Elephantcare. It is about those Republicans that are not only dishonest about repealing and replacing the nefarious Obamacare, but who have also lied to their constituency. They promised if elected or reelected they were going to eliminate the burdensome Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, that is neither affordable nor caring since it forces people to pay for healthcare they don’t need and has become an economic rip-off.

Long ago, the Republican Party departed from its principles, but there is an elected conservative minority in Congress that is fighting with all their convictions to turn their party back from the pervasive leftist ideology. The RINOs have a conservative message, but their actual nature is that of wolves in sheep’s clothing, as we continue to hear their sales pitch through media presentations and lobbying as if their proposals are the best to better people’s life, yet they continue with all their backdoor dealings that leak out, which reveal their blatant dishonesty.

As of Friday, March 10, I have only heard and read that Ryancare is worse than Obamacare, and it’s not the assessment of one individual but of several media conservatives that are sounding the trumpet of alarm signaling danger ahead should the plan proceed without opposition from Republican and Independent conservatives.

The Conservative Review has an article titled, “6 moronic arguments for RINOcare, refuted;” it uncovers six lies: 1) “It repeals Obamacare” 2) “It will lower costs” 3) “It’s entitlement reform!” 4) “This is just the first act; let it play out!” 5) “Don’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good” 6) “You know it’s a good bill because the Democrats hate it” If you want to know the content go here.

Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House, is using the left’s specialty tactics by threatening  House Republicans who disagree with his plan. Ryan also has opposition in the Republican Senate. Ryan did not heed his friend’s warning, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR), to slow down and work for a united repeal and replace plan, so on Thursday he came against the Bill. Is House Speaker Ryan following in the steps of the deposed John Boehner? The House Ways and Means Committee voted 23-16 passage of the American Health Care Act, a victory for Ryan. President Trump and Vice President Pence seem to support the bill and continue to talk to those conservatives who are opposing it. The battle will continue.

What can you do? For starters, do not be passive and inform yourself to understand the pros and cons of this important issue. Get involved by calling and writing to your District Representative and Senators letting them know your position. If you are a professing Christian, you have to go a step further in understanding the consequences of electing individuals to public office at any level. A part of the Proverb we quoted says: “Wisdom rests in the heart of a man of understanding.”

What America desperately needs are men and women of all ages to be people of wisdom, but not humanist wisdom that is permeating our culture, we need the wisdom that James makes reference to:

“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.” James 3:17 (ESV)

“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:5-6 (ESV)

Electing the right people to public office is critical because they make the decisions, and if those decisions violate God’s moral law, the consequences are lasting until those individuals are replaced and sometimes even beyond their terms in office the ripple is felt; this is the value of understanding the importance of righteous people everywhere, especially in government: Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Don’t be convinced that ideas are irrelevant because they are not. Ideas manifest in the beliefs and values of people’s actions in all areas of life. Humanism rejects the notion of God our Creator and His laws and fights Him with their failed laws; everything they do is irrational yet they are expecting to produce good results, it never happened, it’s not happening and it will never happen.

Righteousness has to do with being right and just, and the only source of this is God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. The Word of God reveals God’s grace to a covenant relationship with His people that is the standard by which they must live and treat each other. Our righteousness is in Christ that we may live by God’s standards or ethics and moral law, as they apply to every aspect of human development; this is to say, we do God’s will for a better nation and a better world.

While the Elephantcare is juggling the information and dividing conservatives and Christians we must strive to shed light with practical answers to a non-complex situation.
