This 114th Congress Should Not Be Stained With The Blood of The Unborn

How many more lives of unborn children will be killed in the USA before America realizes that her atrocities against the most defenseless of human beings must stop? According to the abortion counter at numberofabortions.com the abortions in the U.S. since 1973 due to Roe v. Wade are over 57 million and counting by the seconds. There have been 1.32 billion abortions worldwide since 1980, and the counting never stops.  It is hard to know the real figures due to so many variables such as the morning-after pill that is an abortive method of snuffing out a life.

Dr. Ben Carson, the former director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions, a world famous neurosurgeon and the author of six best-sellers, in answering a question about abortion said:

“Well, it’s interesting that we sit around and call other ancient civilizations heathen because of human sacrifice but aren’t we actually guilty of the same thing? The good thing is the American populace is moving closer and closer to understanding that abortion is murder. Every year we’re getting better on that regard.”

Sadly, abortion is nothing new. What we need to know is that abortion is one of the several indicators that a civilization is doomed to collapse. Those who favor the killing of the children in the mother’s womb, no matter what arguments they can muster in order to justify their bloody murderous actions, does not make them right nor less barbarous than other civilizations.

In August 2014, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), a physician, is accurate by stating in an interview with the American Liberty Association

“I think, and I often say in my speeches, that I don’t think a civilization can long endure that doesn’t respect the rights of the unborn.”

In 1973, seven justices unconstitutionally determined that a woman had the right to end the life of the child she was carrying in her womb. The other two branches were silent in this open violation of the Constitution for checks and balances in government. Not only were they quiet about it but also, at the beginning, Christians and their church leaders were also quiet.

Two Justices, Byron R. White and William H. Rehnquist wrote the dissenting opinions in the Roe v. Wade case. White wrote:

“I find nothing in the language or history of the Constitution to support the Court’s judgment. The Court simply fashions and announces a new constitutional right for pregnant women and, with scarcely any reason or authority for its action, invests that right with sufficient substance to override most existing state abortion statutes. The upshot is that the people and the legislatures of the 50 States are constitutionally disentitled to weigh the relative importance of the continued existence and development of the fetus, on the one hand, against a spectrum of possible impacts on the woman, on the other hand. As an exercise of raw judicial power, the Court perhaps has authority to do what it does today; but, in my view, its judgment is an improvident and extravagant exercise of the power of judicial review that the Constitution extends to this Court.” 

It was under Republican President Nixon that infanticide was passed. After Nixon, another Republican came to office, Gerald Ford, who was followed by a Democrat, Jimmy Carter. Republican Ronald Reagan followed Carter. The presidential line continued with Republican, George H.W. Bush followed by Democrat Bill Clinton, who was followed by Republican George W. Bush. Do you know what faith all of these Presidents previously mentioned they professed? They were of the Protestant Evangelical Faith. Then came Barack Hussein Obama, the most pro-infanticide individual to ever hold the Executive office of the United States of America! He has been working feverishly to transform the nation for the worst, and, as of this writing, he is not done.

The above list is comprised of Five Republican and three Democrat Presidents.  At some point, Democrats and Republicans have dominated both Houses of Congress yet have done nothing to end this massacre.

Sen. Rand Paul, introduced a bill for the sanctity of life:

“I am 100% pro-life. I believe life begins at conception and that abortion takes the life of an innocent human being. It is the duty of our government to protect this life as a right guaranteed under the Constitution. For this reason, I introduced S. 583, the Life at Conception Act on March 14, 2013. This bill would extend the Constitutional protection of life to the unborn from the time of conception.” 

It is useless for the new 114th Congress to battle for a new bill with the idea that it is okay to preserve the life of children in the mother’s womb after the 20th week. The reason is the facts show that 89-92% of all abortions happen during the first trimester, prior to the 13th week of gestation (AGI/CDC).

The truth is Pro-Life Lawmakers could pass a Life at Conception Act and end abortion once and for all, using the Constitution.

A Life at Conception Act declares that unborn children are “persons” as defined by the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, and entitled to legal protection.

Senator Rand Paul has been promoting this bill with no success in the past because of a Senate controlled by Democrats. Senator Paul is clear on what needs to be done according to the ruling of 1973.

In January 22, 1973 the Supreme Court said:

“We need not resolve the difficult question of when life begins . . . the judiciary at this point in the development of man’s knowledge is not in a position to speculate as to the answer.”

Then the High Court made an important admission:

“If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant’s case [i.e., “Roe” who sought an abortion], of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [14th] Amendment.”

The fact is, the 14th Amendment couldn’t be clearer:

“. . . nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law.”

Furthermore, the 14th Amendment says:

“Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.”

As we can see, there is no EXCUSE for this new Congress not to end the murder of children in the mother’s womb. ABSOLUTELY NONE! There are plenty of scientists that can prove to Congress, without a shadow of a doubt, that life begins at conception. The pro-aborts’ sole argument is CHOICE. The only choice is a dead baby or a live one. 

They should know what the Declaration of Independence declares about what is self-evident when it comes to life, that it begins at conception. And that is why Justice, Byron R. White was right when he stated: “I find nothing in the language or history of the Constitution to support the Court’s judgment…”

Time and time again, professing Christians from different denominations have overwhelmingly dominated both Houses of Congress, above the 90 percentile. They simply choose to ignore the Founding Documents and the Word of God. It should be more than clear to them what the Word of God says about human beings created in His image and likeness from the womb. 

We have already seen this new Congress backpedaling on the issue. There are too few committed Christians among them to stop this crime against the unborn. They must accept the truth that the unborn have rights. Is this 114th Congress up to the task to not stain their hands with the blood of the unborn?

“I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.” Psalm 139:14-16

“…The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name…. And now the Lord says, he who formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob back to him; and that Israel might be gathered to him for I am honored in the eyes of the Lord, and my God has become my strength.” Isaiah 49:1, 5

 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
