A fact of life is that disease and death have been part of the human challenge since creation fell into disarray due to sin and how it impacted all of it. God did not create sin, that is an impossibility. God cannot abide sin and it is completely against his nature. We are told that sin was conceived in heaven by a beautiful creature by the name of Lucifer who is later called Satan. He allowed himself to become prideful and challenged God saying he (Lucifer) could also be God. Even though Lucifer was expelled from heaven and hurled to earth, that did not take care of eradicating sin in the universe, so God had to deal with it. He could not exclude that choice from Adam and Eve since he made them with a free will. The fact is that God’s one command to Adam and Eve at creation was to not partake of one specific tree in the garden, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil: Genesis 2:16-17, “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, ‘You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.’”
The entire world is living very interesting and turbulent times where age-old values are being turned on their head and being traded with less than desirable values to those of us who filter all of life’s building blocks with those presented in God’s Word—the Bible. After all, whose opinion is higher than his? We are his creation and who knows best how we should work more than our Creator?
This year 2020 is already promising to be very tumultuous and very challenging, whether we like it or not. War and the threat of war, revolutions, natural disasters and even worldwide plagues are demanding all of our attention. Here in America, we are also facing the difficult decision of a general election which includes the presidency, congressional seats, state governorships and many more important posts that impact all of our lives. All of these decisions reveal to us how divided we truly are as a nation. We are seeing people entertain and approve thoughts, ideas and lifestyles we never thought we would see their acceptance in America due to our value system more closely related to biblical values.
In the United States of America, we have an annual holiday that celebrates our presidents. The holiday was first established in 1800 after the death of Washington in 1799. The holiday initially only applied to the District of Columbia. It was later expanded for the whole country in 1885 to celebrate Washington’s birthday and to officially honor the life and work of George Washington, the first president of the United States. The shift into becoming President’s Day happened in the late 1960s when the emphasis of the holiday changed to commemorate all presidents of our country, past and present. The U.S. federal holiday is on the third Monday of February each year. Records show that George Washington’s birthday is on February 22.
At this year’s State of the Union Address by President Donald Trump, we heard a more than glowing report of his accomplishments during his administration as president. We have witnessed his accomplishments constantly as reported on the conservative news channels. I say conservative because the liberal media does not report them. They do just the opposite. They criticize and demean everything he does.

When the rates of unhappiness, suicide, self-injury, depression, mass shootings, and loneliness are higher than ever recorded, we must conclude that the way our society is looking at life is definitely wrong.
A historical thing took place this past week. President Trump became the first sitting President to speak personally at the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. We are encouraged because this is a step in the right direction toward thrusting the eradication of the abortion on demand issue in our country. We are more than overdue for reversal of the Roe v. Wade ruling. Each year the crowds at the March for Life get bigger and this year was no exception. It was wonderful to see so many young people in the crowd who showed up to stand up and be counted with such passion about this important issue. This strength among our youth for protecting life gives us hope for the future of our country.

America’s religious freedom used to be something that was synonymous with our rights as Americans. All that changed drastically in American public schools in the early 1960s when prayer and Bible reading was taken out of our public-school system. It is more than sad to say that this anti-God agenda has continued to progress, and it now threatens to destroy our God-given freedom to worship according to the dictates of our conscience in almost all public places. It is unbelievable that all it takes is for one individual to complain that it offends them and then the rights of the majority are denied. It was never like this.
